Title: Santonio Holmes & Big Ben
My Feelings: So Ben isn’ t being charged with anything, however, the evidence proves that he went in to the bathroom and he was buying shots. I lost all support for Ben Roethlisberger. Like it or not Ben doesn’t deserve the prestige of being a Pittsburgh Steeler. He has shown that he places himself in bad situations, perhaps he feels like Tiger Woods and the rules don’t apply to him? I was disgusted that during training camp at Latrobe High School, he didn’t have the common courtesy to sign autographs for the fans that bleed Black & Gold. In conclusion, the Steelers should cut all ties with Ben Roethlisberger so the Steelers remain as a creditable sports franchise. Ben will be a perfect fit in the Raiders organization.
As for Santonio, I am glad to see him gone, it seemed he found trouble wherever he went. Holmes is not what a Steeler is! This situation reminds me of the Plaxico Burress situation and what a coincidence that Santonio went to the Jets which is a New York team. Santonio was facing a four game suspension and was in the last year of his contract. The Steelers would never offer him a contract extension, therefore a fifth round pick is better than nothing! We lost Plaxico due to free agency and received nothing in return. Finally I recall that the Steelers acquired Jerome Bettis for a fourth or fifth round draft pick. I can’t wait for the draft!
